Running Out Of Ink Can Be Avoided – Epson Cartridges

I’m sure many of us have been in the position where we urgently needed to print a proposal and presentation with only seconds to spare before a very important meeting, only to realize that the printer has run out of ink on the 3rd to last page and there are no spare Epson cartridges in the drawer! The irony of the matter is that this frustration (and possibly embarrassment!) could have been prevented!

As the cost of printer cartridges can be quite substantial, especially if you have a number of printers, copiers and scanners in your working environment, it is not always possible to have spare sets of ink for each and every printer. But having a good idea of when you’ll need to replace your Epson cartridges, can give you a good indication of when it’s time to head to the shops!

Begin by making sure that your computer and your computer are both switched on. Depending on the operating system on your computer, the subsequent steps might vary a bit, but they generally follow more or less the same steps. From your computer’s “Start” button you should be able to navigate to your computer’s control panel and you will then be given the option to select the “Printers” icon. On some operating systems you will find your “Printer” button under “Hardware and Sound”, but it is mostly situated directly in your control panel view.

From “Printers” you will be able to navigate to “Properties” and then “Printing Preferences”. You will find numerous settings and options under your printing preferences, but the tab to look out for is the “Services” tab from where you can then access your “Estimated Ink Levels”. These levels will then indicate more or less how much ink is left in your various cartridges and enable you to plan ahead.

Keep in mind that estimated ink levels are, as the terms indicates, just estimated and that you cannot run your entire office based on estimation. The actual ink levels might vary a bit and you should not wait until your printer estimates that it’s out of ink before stocking up on new Epson Cartridges!
